Safeguarding Policy
Creating a Safe Space
At Vesta Self Defence, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all women in Somerset to learn and grow. Our mission is to empower women, and that starts with ensuring everyone feels secure in our training space.
Our Core Principles
Judgment-Free
We maintain an all-female space where vulnerability is respected and growth is encouraged.
Zero Tolerance
We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind.
Instructor Responsibilities
All our instructors are fully certified, insured, and committed to best practices in reality-based self-defence training. We ensure that:
- Appropriate DBS checks are in place where applicable
- Training is conducted with the utmost respect for physical and emotional boundaries
- We remain vigilant and responsive to any concerns raised by our students
Reporting Concerns
If you ever feel uncomfortable or have a safeguarding concern, please speak directly to Sarah Mitchell. We promise to:
- Listen without judgment
- Maintain confidentiality wherever possible
- Take swift and appropriate action to resolve the issue
